The iMIS Great Things Awards were created to celebrate and recognize clients and (their solution provider partners) who are using iMIS more, using it better and getting greater value from the platform; the award is not about being perfect, but it is about committing to and striving for continuous performance improvement using iMIS to advance their mission by serving their members, donors and community at the highest levels.
Awarded monthly, we review countless submissions from the iMIS community, sharing stories on the great things their peers, colleagues and partners are achieving. We are pleased to announce the June 2022 winner: Heartland Credit Union Association.
Developing the new Heartland Credit Union Association website was a collaborative effort between the HCUA and the iMIS implementation teams. As a new iMIS user, HCUA found immediate value in the website design package available for new implementations.
At the beginning of the website development process, the HCUA team identified three key messages they desired to convey to visitors to their site:
The next step was identifying key audiences by persona, including Credit Union presidents and CEOs, Credit Union senior managers, Credit Union staff and partners.
C-Levels and Senior Managers: Most importantly the site needed to intuitively direct and provide information about events designed specifically for both C-Levels and senior managers, as well as showcase advocacy call-to-actions and similar efforts that require member participation, compliance resources, business partnerships (products/services), board support/recruitment resources, Heartland Credit Union Charitable Foundation (HCUCF) events and news, ways for their credit union to support/donate (state & federal PACs, payroll deduction, HCUCF donations/involvement opportunities), and HCUA staff contact information.
Credit Union staff: The site needed to provide staff with quick access to information about events and training, HCUCF grants, advocacy and compliance resources, tools for their day-to-day duties (financial literacy tools, marketing graphics/articles, HCUCF news, shared branch communications, and recorded trainings), and HCUA staff contact information.
Partners: The site also needed to provide information to Partners (sponsors, vendors, business partners, etc.) including information about sponsorship opportunities, event recaps/testimonials (showcase the positive impact of HCUA and the HCUCF), and include content that explains what HCUA and the HCUCF do (advocacy efforts, community impact, strengthening credit unions, uniting credit unions).
Finally, the HCUA staff desired a site that was consistently branded, responsive for all types of devices, and included intuitive, easy navigation with a newsfeed for newsletters.
Susan Dyer, Director of Communications at HCUA told us, “The result of working with the iMIS team is a very clean-looking website without being stark white. The bright green in the logo is incorporated into the site effortlessly, which can't be easy to do! The shadowing of buttons and the way images "come to life" with color when you hover over them also makes you feel like you're really interacting with the website...there is a lot of information on this site, but it’s organized in a way that's not overwhelming.”
We love hearing and sharing the great things that the iMIS community is achieving. You’re invited to share your iMIS story on how your association, union or non-profit has transformed your overall performance, streamlined your business processes, improved member engagement, increased member retention, or any way that iMIS helps you achieve your mission’s goals and keeps you ready for the next big thing.
