Want to jump to the product updates?

It’s hard to believe that 2023 is coming to an end and 2024 is just around the corner. We had an amazing conference season, hanging out with iMIS users at the NiUG Annual iMIS Users Conference, NiUG TechXchange, NiUG Asia-Pacific Discovery, and our iNNOVATIONS conferences in London, Virginia, and Toronto. We're always inspired by the great things our clients achieve with iMIS and we really appreciate the opportunity to speak with iMIS users about what they’re doing and how we can help them deliver on their missions.

One recurring theme we’re taking to heart is that we’re here to help you focus on your mission, not your technology. I want to take a moment to thank you for trusting your mission to us and to mention some of the themes that we’re investing in over the next few years:

  • IMIS has always led the way, providing the functionality that you need to get your work done. We’re planning to put extra emphasis on improving user experience by making iMIS even easier to use and more responsive so that you can spend more time serving your members and donors.
  • Every organization is looking for new ways to serve their members and drive revenue. We’ll be working to help you grow commerce by making it easier to process transactions with things like digital wallets, stored credit cards and improved shopping experiences.
  • IMIS has always had an ecosystem of skilled partner developers creating add-on products to deliver the capabilities that our clients need. We’ll continue to expand iMIS as a Platform to help third party developers continue to grow additional iMIS product offerings.
  • Technology is always moving forward and we will be pushing ahead on our Code Modernization effort to make sure that we’re continuing to provide you with a stable, performant platform to continue to grow your organizations.

We’re always happy to hear your product feedback, whether it’s feature requests or (especially) your iMIS success stories. You’re always welcome to reach out to us at productowners@imis.com. Thanks to all of you who regularly contact us, and I assure you that we read and respond to each email. To see what some of our clients are doing with iMIS, look at our Great Things Award Winners. You’re sure to be inspired!

What's New in the Latest iMIS EMS Upgrades

Before we roll into the holidays, we’re rolling out the last iMIS upgrade of the year. You can always find information on the latest updates on our What’s New page, including links to our full documentation.

Here are some of the things that I’m most excited about:

Merge duplicate organizations

One of the features that we hear the most requests for is the ability to merge duplicate organizations. iMIS Contact Merge has been enhanced to allow you to merge duplicate organizations now as well. When you find two organizations that are the same, you can choose the organization record to retain and merge the child contacts and other data from the record that you’re removing.

Membership Configuration Wizard

One of the more involved processes, when configuring a new iMIS system, is the process of configuring your memberships. This involves setting up your contact types, your products, billing cycles, and more. The new Membership Configuration Wizard will walk you through a step-by-step process, saving time and making it much simpler to get new iMIS systems up and running.

Commerce enhancements

We’ve also added some commerce enhancements to help make it easier to manage your commerce orders within iMIS. Staff users can now override the default order type from the shopping cart so that orders can be processed according to the needs of each customer. Staff users can also cancel orders before they’ve been invoiced, allowing you to be more responsive to the needs of your customers.

User experience enhancement for IQA queries

When using an IQA query, filter values will now be kept when you navigate away from the query and return to it. This will allow users to select a result to not have to worry about re-entering filter values when you return to the query.

These are just a few of my favorite updates in the latest release of iMIS, for the full list and documentation, videos and training, pay a visit to our What’s New page on the help site. We can’t wait to see what you do with these updates!

Thank you again for being a part of the iMIS Community, we appreciate your feedback throughout the year and really enjoy getting an opportunity to talk in person at conferences or other events. We hope that you have a happy and peaceful holiday season and we’re looking forward to continuing to work with you to enhance iMIS in the new year!
